Annually employer sponsored retirement plans are required to file a form 5500 with the government. This filing is intended to demonstrate that the plan operated consistent with the plan document and with governmental requirements. In addition this filing is to demonstrate that the plan was non discriminatory in design and in operation.
Periodically retirement plans are required to disclose specified information to plan participants.
Generally a third party firm, like Retirement Plan Professionals, LLC, is retained to prepare and file these required reports.
